Redundancy sucks, or does it?

According to the Office for National Statistics (2020) “Since February 2020 in the UK, the number of payroll employees has fallen by 726,000”. The majority of these employees have been made redundant in direct relation of the effects of Covid 19 in certain sectors and industries. That's a lot of lost industry experience and a huge loss of money moving into households and through into the the economy.
